2021 Global Report on Food Crises

Global Network Against Food Crises, European Union, FAO and WFP

May 5, 2021

  • 8:30 – 10:30 am (America/New_York)
  • 2:30 – 4:30 pm (Europe/Amsterdam)
  • 6:00 – 8:00 pm (Asia/Kolkata)

IFPRI’s Director General Johan Swinnen is participating in the 2021 Global Report on Food Crises. This report is a flagship publication of the Global Network and its major achievements in terms of global public good on food security and nutrition analysis.

This year’s edition will depict the acute food insecurity and malnutrition situation in countries chronically vulnerable to food crises and often characterized by fragile agri-food systems, and that have experienced the compounding effects of COVID-19. Ultimately, this event will provide an opportunity to emphasize the role that resilient agri-food systems play in contributing to sustainable solutions to food crises, thus linking it to the UN Food Systems Summit 2021.
