Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Bayer, IFPRI and ETH join forces to restore biodiversity in agri-food systems (Funcionace Nutroceuticos)

Funcionace Nutroceuticos (Brazil) published an article announcing the partnership among Bayer, the IFPRI, and ETH Zurich. The organizations have joined forces to develop solutions based on nature that neutralize the loss of biodiversity on farms. The research collaboration is focused on a global scale and with a particular focus on large-scale plantations, such as wheat, corn, and soybeans, grown in simplified agricultural landscapes, such as in the Midwest of the United States.
