Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Foreign ag aid provides boost to domestic farmers (FeedStuffs)

FeedStuffs (USA), in an article, discussed the recently released report, How the United States benefits from agricultural and food security investments in developing countries. IFPRI Director General Shenggen Fan states, “Research is at the core of innovations in agriculture that benefit both recipient countries and those in the U.S. Continued American investment in foreign agriculture will be vital to providing growing global populations healthy and sustainable diets.” The report was also mentioned in stories in the Hagstrom Report (paywall) and Desoto Times.
