Samuel Benin

Samuel Benin is the Acting Director for Africa in the Development Strategies and Governance Unit. He conducts research on national strategies and public investment for accelerating food systems transformation in Africa and provides analytical support to the African Union’s CAADP Biennial Review.

Africa Business Insight reported on a new book, titled Ghana’s Economic and Agricultural Transformation: Past Performance and Future Prospects, by Xinshen DiaoDanielle Resnick, Peter Hazell, and Shashidhara Kolavalli that integrates economic and political analysis to explore the challenges and opportunities of Africa’s transformation. The book examines Ghana’s overall economic performance and an in-depth empirical analysis of performance of the broader economy and the agricultural sector over the past four decades.
